A question online marketers hear a lot goes something like this:

How can I find out how to set up a download page to sell my products?

While that’s a pretty common question, it seems to stump many who download products all the time, but have no idea how it’s done.

If you are one who wants to get on the other side of the sale - the selling side - the following information will show you how it’s done.

Here’s a way to set up a download page so you can have your products ready to sell.

Let’s get started…

The first thing to understand is that a download page is associated with a web site domain. It’s one of the elements within the domain where you’ll have a main sales page that offers your product. However, after a sale takes place, the customer must be sent to the download page in the process.

Follow these 5 steps to set up your digital download page:

1) Create a new folder within your website root directory and rename it. For the sake of example lets name this download folder, dl-products. That stands for “download products” but you can name the folder anything you prefer.

2) In this scenario… let’s also name your product, ebook- xyz.pdf, as the PDF file you want to sell.

3) Copy your download files like: ebook-xyz.pdf, etc, into the dl-products folder. You can have several download items in your download folder. These could be ebooks or software you want to sell - even free reports to give away, etc.

4) Create a new web page in your web editor program like: 123WysiWyg, FrontPage or Dreamweaver, etc. For example, we’ll name your download page: dl-page.html.

Add written content to your download page that will instruct your visitors on downloading from the links you’ll provide on this page.

5) To create a download link write text that says something like: Click Here To Download. Next, highlight that text in your web editor and while it’s still highlighted go to the area where you can insert a hyperlink and then type in the web address to create your download web address.

Note: This is where you have to add in all the file name elements into the web address as described in the following.

When creating a download web address (which is a link your customers will download from) what you’ll include is the http, the www, your domain name, your download page folder name, your download page name and that’s how we arrive at this web address: http://www.1ofMySites.com/dl-page/dl-products.html (this is your download page you send your customers to)

And finally, when you add the actual file name of your download product (ebook-xyz.pdf) onto the very the end of your web address, it will look something like this: http://www.1ofMySites.com/dl-page.dl-products/ebook-xyz.pdf (this is your download link your customers will download from)

Be sure not to have any spaces between your characters when creating your download links used for websites.

Notice how each of the elements included within the download link are derived from the hypertext transfer protocol (http & www), your domain site name, the download folder name, the download page name and the file name.

Therefore, your download web address can be put into a web browser where your web visitors can visit your website and download the products they bought and you’re in business!

IMPORTANT: When you create this download page you must understand you’re building it on your computer’s hard drive first - then after it’s completed, you must load the web page and all its files up to your web server.

This procedure is called FTP as in, File Transport Protocol. But don’t let the name scare you as I have a free report that simplifies the process and you can get it free right here: http://www.ImpactInfoMarketing.com/FTP-Made-Simple

Also Note: To sell digital products online you’ll need a shopping cart so you can receive payments and give your customers a way to pay for your products.

Here’s a few good ones you can use that make it easy:

Paypal.com Clickbank.com PayDotCom.com

If you want more shopping cart options, you can do a web search on the term “online shopping cart”.

Just let the shopping cart handle the credit card processing and once you get your order buttons set up on your sales page, you’re ready to start selling online because now you know how to deliver digital download products.
